Virgin Birth

I saw Marguerite Rigoglioso, our guest for todays episode, on an interview with Gaia and she moved me to tears. Not because she said anything sentimental or sad, but I think it’s because she gave me some validation that I was looking for and you’ll soon understand why.

Some of you might be of Christian faith and if you are you know the story of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus, who fell pregnant by God and gave birth to Jesus Christ in a manger.

I believe you will find two types of Christians: those that will tell you yes they go to church on Christmas and Easter but they remain skeptic in the belief that Mary was a virgin who fell pregnant by God, through no choice of her own, and gave birth to a real human baby

and you will equally find those who 100% believe it all.

What I love about Marguerite, and her work, and this interview, is that she has allowed me to find my stance somewhere right in the middle. And if you’ve been listening to my show for a while, you know that right in the middle is the sweet spot for me. It’s where I strive to be, and i’m finding the goal is the same whether it’s with medicine or spirituality.

My whole life I’ve had trouble with Mary’s story. I believe so whole heartedly in her, and in her energy, and in her divine help. I go into three specific stories in this episode. But I could never grasp what might have happened all those 2000 years ago. it never made sense to me, in my thinking brain, how it is even a remote possibility for this conception to have occurred.  Fast forward to 5 years of trying to conceive with every means possible – now I REALLY can’t get behind Mary just all a sudden showing up one day, single mom, baby in the belly. They def didn’t have IVF back then (and even if they did – I’m sure they didn’t guarantee a baby Jesus in the disclosure).

But let me tell you what they did have – they had practice, and ritual, and this learned practice that Marguerite talks about, (a scientific term) called

Parthenogensis.  Parthenogensis comes from greek word – Parthenos (virgin) and gignestha – to be born – to be born of a virgin maiden

you might only hear of it these days when you hear about a whale or an animal in captivity who (often bc of the immense stress of captivity) will conceive by themselves, basically self-replicate. I remember this article from a few years ago on national geographic about a shark that conceived through parthenogenesis

https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/zebra-shark-virgin-birth-reproduction

So anyway, we see this kind of thing, its a “real concept” but when we think of humans doing it , it’s just too unfathomable, unimaginable, for us to picture. But, thats because it’s unknown.

Now, I haven’t done the research on it. I’m not the PhD here, Marguerite is. She tells us that this is a practice that was learned and passed on through lineages of women (hence the sub title of her book, Mary and the lineage of Virgin births).  and thats why it’s relevant for us and for this podcast.

because, let me tell you what I learned from marguerite –  Mary was no damsel in distress who suddenly fell pregnant with a savior

Mary WILLed this to be true. Mary had intention, she had mentors (like her mother, Anne, who ALSO GAVE BIRTH TO MARY through parthenogenesis.

Maybe we wont be able to learn the practice of parthenogenesis in this lifetime, but we can learn these ancient mantras and yantras and meditations and practices that will, like Mary, help our womb open to receive seed -whether its man seed, or star seed, or our own seed through parthenogenesis.

Mary is a divine feminine energy and she’s a powerful being that is still available to us. She is here to communicate with us, to help with our growth. Marguerite tells us to sit with her, have tea with her, pray with her, meditate with her. Ask her to show you the way

so let me back up quick, tell you about marg. she is a phD, a researcher and author , including her new book which is a huge basis for our conversation titled “The mystery tradition of miraculous conception : Mary and the lineage of Virgin Births”

she is the founder of 7 Sisters Mystery School located right here in Massachusetts

This website above is where you can also find links to her online courses, blog, school, any other info about her

To write this book, Marguerite interpreted her way through a gospel (Infancy Gospel of James, which is not recognized as an official gospel of the christian church).  She sort of pulls apart and interprets this gospel, along side ancient literature from all over the world including the Qaran and ancient greek/hebrew legends and bibles. She sources texts where the authors couldn’t have possibly have known or seen one another. Texts that are ancient palm leaf manuscripts. You really grow to appreciate the type of digging it takes when you are looking for validation in a time before pen and paper and laptops and twitter and spell check and siri to translate words arrived.

Marguerite digs and she researches and compares. She talks beautifully about this figure 8 relationship in her brain which I’ve heard her mention before and i love the analogy. its like she feeds the left side of her brain with facts with something she reads and that converts over to the right side of her brain which is intuition and feeling and she’ll think “ohhh this must be what they meant when they said this” – so that loops back to the left brain where she tries to find something in the text to corroborate her intuition #facts… and its then a constant loop of  “does this feel true? yes “ ok lets find something to prove it “

These practices aren’t concept you can learn over night. This connection to mother Mary, the divine feminine, the whole womb chakra- it’s a connection that takes practice and tuning, like any connection in life.

We need to try to  invite it in and I believe this interview with marguerite will be that invitation you were looking for .

First Try

Finally!!! I know I’m late guys. It’s kinda crazy having a full time job, studying Ayurveda, and trying to edit podcast episodes/change my website host! (ALSO WENT ON QUITE A FEW VACAY’s NOT GONNA LIE- BUT I DESERVED THEM……..) So, I am three weeks later than I promised, but better late than never. I had a reading with @Hellen at my friends bachelorette last week (IT WAS INCREDIBLE, i have to do a separate post on that experience) but the cards reassured me i was putting enough energy in, so I’m late but I’m feeling great

This was a tough episode for me to edit. It brought up lotsa feelings – good and bad. Its actually kind of soothing listening to it over again. My voice fluctuates so much throughout the whole episode – you can instantly tell my mood.

IVF is an emotional roller coaster and I say it several times in this episode. I recorded the last few moments you’ll hear in the episode about four months ago. I’ve already grown so much since. This episode is pretty vulnerable and I honestly debated continuing the podcast at so many points. But, I’m always led back to it.

This is a video of the first shot

My first shot! 1/29/2021

It’s actually QUITE funny. Viewer discretion is advised if you don’t like needles!!!!!!!

Connect with Carina: Chinese Medicine

Carina found her love for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) before Ayurveda. Continuously suffering from chronic bladder infections led her to a TCM practitioner who told Carina to focus on her emotions and her minded. It is then when she learned that what you eat and how you think is influencing your health.

In this episode, we dive deeply into connecting to our womb from a TCM perspective, which includes some of the most common imbalances Carina sees with clients as well as a plethora of ways we can correct imbalances in our body.

Heres a timeline of the topics we discuss in this episode, along with some links you will enjoy.

(2:40) Phases of cycle in Chinese medicine; ebb and flow of Yin and Yang

yin – negative dark feminine (moon)
yang – positive bright and masculine (sun)
yin and yang are always present but its about which one is dominating at what time

(6:28) What does a healthy cycle look like

Interesting takeaway from this section: Some women get concerned with 21 or 35 day cycle, but what Chinese medicine says, through Carina, is that a fixed cycle length is more important than a short or long cycle. f your cycle changes from month to month, then you need to look at what is out of balance. If you hav always consistently had 21 day cycle, this may be normal for you

(10:04) spleen Qi and signs of Spleen Qi deficiency and how to support the spleen

(12:20) Liver Qi and signs of stagnation/imbalance and what to avoid to support the liver

(14:13) How are the uterus and heart connected in TCM

Why we work on emotional balance when we treat women with fertility issues

Interesting takeaway from this section: Emotions have such a big influence on the uterus- think about it! Your heart pumps blood to the uterus

(17:50) Kidneys – the foundation of body’s yin and yang energies

kidney deficiency is most commonly at the root of fertility issues

(21:25) Most common factor for kidney deficiency

(22:48) Signs in face that indicate kidney deficiency

Remember that HSG (hysterosalpingogram) Dr. Klapholtz talked about in Episode 2 – Oath. Well, I had to have one done the other day. Its an x-ray procedure used to see whether the fallopian tubes are open and if the inside of the uterus is normal. It takes less than 5 mins but it is a very painful few minutes, I can tell you that much!

I completely underestimated the pain I would be in after the procedure. First off, I had to drive about 1.5 hours to the nearest clicic, because the clinic closest to me was booked all week and, if you know fertility treatments you know that timing matters, so I HAD to go on this specific day. Anyway, the drive there was fine. I am actually enjoying car rides these days because I am taking so few of them.

The ride home though- that was brutal. I had severe cramps as soon as I left the clinic and they continued as I pulled out into the street and onto the highway. I thought about pulling over, but instead – I started singing to myself. and you know what? It worked! The pain subsided when I would sing – LOUDLY!

Theres a little more to the story – how I started to sing to myself and why – you’ll learn that in the first few minutes of this episode.

You’ll also learn how this story connects to this weeks episode, where we are talking all about Ayurveda and connecting to the womb, with our guest Carina.

Coming to you all the way from Europe, Carina joins us this week and next week for deep dive into connecting to your womb with both Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. Carina has this unique perspective where she has studied naturopathy, Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda – which is just a testament to how she embodies the desire to heal the body by treating it as a whole.

This weeks episode covers all things Ayurveda and Fertility and she gives us a plethora of wisdom and so many tips to guide us to connect and nourish ourselves.

Dr. Death

I know guys, a bit morbid title for a podcast about fertility. But there is purpose behind this episode and that is: trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right, it might not be. Doctors are experts, but you are the expert of your own body. Get second opinions! And don’t put all of your faith in one human – doctor or not.

Trust me I was a skeptic at first – but I messaged people who had claimed to use this and anyone who answered me told me they KNEW this tea really helped! So thats when I decided to message the founder, Arielle and right away she was willing to interview on the podcast!

I had no idea the kind of wisdom she was about to hit us with.

Arielle started as a fertility acupuncturist and herbalist – her training is in Chinese medicine

We talk a little about acupuncture in the beginning of the episode bc this what her background is in

The meat of this episode is SHE BREAKS DOWN the cycle for us and tells us which of the tea we should be drinking during each phase, and WHY

endometriosis, unexplained infertility, PCOS, high FSH, late ovulation- she breaks it all down!

Her goal isn’t TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO ! her goal is to give you the tools so you can figure out what’s happening in your body

she also break down some of the ingredients (for example pomegranate is an astringent – holds in moisture- nourishing to follicles – GUYS Ayurveda says this too (AND I’ve seen pomegranate juice for IVF all around this community)

(plant based + chiropractor) / self care = pregnant ?

This episode is a story of natural pregnancy but the best part is that our guest was told her only likely way to conceive would be through IVF

Our guest this week tells us about coming off of birth control which led to 12 months without a cycle. Her doctor recommended her to a fertility specialist as protocol to get her period back.

There she was diagnosed with hypothyroid and was told she doesn’t ovulate on her own

she went on BC to regulate her period than tried two IUIs which both failed, leading to the doctors recommendation of IVF to conceive – which is when our guest decided it was time to pause.

She started to focus on self care – seeking care from a nutritionist and going to therapy. she was able to get off of her thyroid and other meds and joined a gym and began seeing a chiropractor.

Around this time, she and her husband decided to change their diet and went plant based! PS HER HUSBAND WAS LIKE THE HUGEST MEAT EATER EVER.

anyway, i loved the communication and team work between her and her husband (he chimes in because he was home while we recorded) – and I truly admire their decision to live consciously so that they can be at their best potential when raising their children, and pass those traits to them. Isn’t that what we’re all here for anyway?

love this woman, love this couple, love this episode

enjoy

We have arrived at the last episode in our Progessence Plus by Young Living Essential Oil series.

Our guest this week is Heather. While Heather did not have trouble conceiving her first two children, she later discovered she had low progesterone which ended up resulting in a miscarriage when trying for baby #3.

Heather uses Pro+ to support her cycle and progesterone, and she also talks about so many other essential oils she uses in order to support her non-toxic lifestyle which she is passionate about as a way of treating her auto immune disorder (hashimotos).

Heather also teaches us a bit about the charting method she uses to track her cycles, and the #1 sign she looks for to track ovulation

Just yesterday I finally ordered my Young Living starter kit along with a few other oils/supplements to try. Heather was so helpful and I can’t wait to continue learning about essential oils through her support. She is here for you too! Find her on Insta @ayoungwifestale

Enjoy the episode!

Tantra with Chandresh Bhardwaj

It was the third morning after the Mantra was given to me by Chandresh to meditate on Goddess Durga fertility.

I was rushing out of the house and realized I hadn’t yet meditated
I thought to myself “okay I’ll do it later”

Then I thought about the discipline and energetics of connecting with the Goddess that Chandresh and I talk about in this episode, and I realized that even if it was just 5 minutes I had to sit and meditate.

So I did my 5 minutes then jumped in the car and drove 30 seconds down the street to Starbucks.

As I was waiting for my order I checked my email and I had received two emails related to the podcast that I had been waiting for for WEEKS.

At the same time I was so excited about these emails, the song in the background was Celine Dion, That’s The Way It Is and these were some of the lyrics:

“I can read your mind
And I know your story
I see what you’re going through
..
Don’t give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that’s the way it is”

I BURST into tears. I have no doubt this was the universe communicating to me that my meditation that morning was heard.

This episode is so powerful. I am truly honored to have Chandresh on the podcast.

Did I mention the forward to his book, Breaking the Norms, was written by the Dalai Lama!!

Enjoy this episode. It is truly so powerful.

KetoBabies: Keto for PCOS and fertility

I interviewed Carolina just after she graduated with her Masters Degree in nutrition- but trust me the knowledge from her degree is nothing in comparison to the real life experience she brings us in this episode

Carolina was diagnosed with anovulatory PCOS and after only 4 months on keto she experienced a cycle for the first time in 16 years!!

She has since lost lost 200 pounds on keto, completely rid her PCOS symptoms and gotten pregnant -with TWINS! (talk about enhancing fertility) s

she shares simple substations, snack ideals and her simple and easy to remember formula for each of her meals

she makes KETO look and sound easy

some other topics;:

-liver for fertility: this is a huge one!! its coming up everywhere!! hear about how her naturopath had her eat liver every day for a week and her iron count doubled-sound of eating liver make you queasy? don’t worry! she gives us some other ways to incorporate it !

-Fat and fertility

-how quantity/quality of carbs can effect fertility

she’s done the research, she’s read the literature, and she loves the science!

also – please don’t make any changes to your diet without doing your own research – Carolina acknowledges, and I acknowledge, that everyones body is different and what worked for her may not work for you……..

Husband

Everyone’s telling me they’re proud of me for sharing my journey

Trust me I love and appreciate it and I’m proud of me too!
But there’s one person that gets lost in the mix: my husband

No ones telling him they proud of him
No one tells him he’s being courageous, brave and vulnerable

So – K- I’m here to tell you that and to tell the world that
I’m proud of you and I’m so happy to be your wife.

It takes a real man to stand up with his wife even when it might make him look vulnerable. You’ve been nothing but supportive and encouraging with this podcast (#Pitta). I couldn’t have continued with this podcast if you weren’t on board. I can’t talk about this journey without talk about you bc you’re 50% of my equation.

And you’ve dealt with me trying the oils and the supplements and the tinctures and the naturopath. AND you’re my number one Guinnea pig- my patient zero. and even when you roll your eyes you’re still willing to try things for me and for the sake of our future family.

let’s be clear though – I’m a freaking awesome wife.
We are both so lucky to have each other.

ladies, don’t forget to tell your man how much you love him and appreciate him. He is after all your first baby and even when your babies do come he will proooooobably still require the most attention

Love you so much K. And I can’t wait for babies.

– Wife

Julie’s Story

For years Julie wasn’t ovulating on her own. After seeking medical attention, Julie was prescribed Clomid (a common fertility drug) and after few cycles got pregnant with twins!

A couple of years later when she was ready to expand her family, Julie decided to go through another Clomid cycle, and got pregnant with her daughter Hope. At a regular 24 week check up, the doctor couldn’t find a heart beat.

Julie talks about this emotional time in her life and opens up about how she handled that grief, and how she now celebrates her daughter

Was there a reason Hope wasn’t born? Julie and I talk about this. Maybe there was a reason for her short time on this planet.

6 weeks after losing her daughter Hope, still filled with grief, Julie found her reason. She was surprised to find herself pregnant – naturally – for the first time ever, with her third son Finn!

She says “if we had Hope, we wouldn’t have had Finn”

Sexology with Dr. Moali

ok ladies!! we’ve all been there

you went to CVS (or amazon), bought your #OPK (ovulation predictor kit), and it turned blue!!

now – GAME TIME.
you’re ovulating and you need to have SEX RIGHT NOW!

clocks ticking…

but really though how sexy is it call your husband and say “ I’m ovulating, we need to have sex RIGHT NOW”
its not.

what did I try? I put it as a calendar event in iCal (LOL )…that was not the sexiest !!

THATS WHY I asked my next guest DR Nazanin Moali to interview on the podcast!!

Dr Moali is a licensed clinical psychologist, consultant, and a published researcher. She is also the host of Sexology, a podcast that untangles the science of sex and pleasure
Dr Moali Talks about sex in such a professional yet elegant yet relatable, playful way

some things we talk about:

-naked happy hour
-adding money to your erotic bank
-focus on the sex you want to have – make it fun
-how to keep the spark alive if you’re feeling the depression that comes along with a long fertility journey
-what can you do to build up your mood for positive sexual experiences
-communication!!!!!!
-TTC is a marathon and you have to enjoy it
– what I learned from Dr. Moali is that a naked happy hour in iCal is much more appealing than putting the word “ovulating”

enjoy this episode ! its a juicy one

Amanda’s Story

Im excited to bring you Amanda’s episode for so many reasons:

-This is the first story that involves male diagnosis only. this was Such a great perspective for me and so relatable because although our stories are somewhat different – they have many similarities and it brought up a lot of questions for me personally that you’ll be able to hear me ask like: am i delaying the inevitable ? and what if I have this IVF back up plan but it doesn’t actually work?

-This is not an IVF horror story!! This is proof (and hope) that it’s possible to do just one round and be successful on that round

-We also talk about this very REAL feeling of having to grieve the perfect cute way to surprise your husband with a pregnancy when he already knows it could be coming

-Focusing more on your feelings of hope rather than feelings of fear (if its even possible)

-And my favorite part, she ends it by saying – feel free to reach out to me – if you need a friend or want to talk, please reach out i will always be happy to hear from you . sometimes its easy to feel like yours on an island – no one else that your friends with is going through IVF and feel like you have no one to talk to about it- then start to talk to people about it an realize so many other going through;  one of my favorite parts about this podcast is the  new friends I’m making

Thank you Amanda for being so brave and sharing your story with us.

You can also find more about Amanda’s journey on her blog

Phenomenal Woman

Phenomenal Women, a poem by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies

I tell them it’s in the reach of my arms, It’s in the span of my hips It’s in the stride in my steps and in the cult of my lips because
I am a phenomenal woman

So phenomenal that sometimes I walk into a room just as cool as you please

And to a man they either stand or fall down on their knees

Then they swarm around me like a hive a honey bees and I say woahhhh must be this fire in my eyes

Maybe it’s the flash of my teeth, the swing in my waist, or just the joy, in my feet I don’t know
all I know is Im a woman Phenomenally phenomenal women

And men themselves they wonder just what it is they see in me

Sometimes they try so much but they can not touch this inner mystery

And when I try to tell them they still can’t see I say to them ahhh

It’s me, a phenomenal woman
That’s me
And that’s you

When you see me walking it ought to make you proud

Cause I’m a phenomenal woman

It’s the bend in my hair and the palm in my hand and the need for my care

Phenomenal women

That’s me and that’s you (And a few phenomenal men)

Acupuncture for Fertility

ACUPUNCTURE FOR FERTILITY
waaahoooooo
I love this topic
And I extra love this episode because it’s with MY acupuncturist!!!

Nicole specialized in pediatric acupuncture when a woman came to her for help trying to conceive. Not really knowing much about acupuncture for fertility, Nicole applied the basic principles she knew and helped this woman successfully conceive. Through word of mouth, more and more women began asking Nicole for acupuncture treatment for fertility, igniting it as her passion.
But the best thing about Nicole’s practice is that she doesn’t just focus on acu points for fertility! We spend a big portion of our convo talking about adjusting diet to balance hormones and increase fertility. I learned from her that a patient eating a clean diet responds so much more quickly to the acupuncture to than a person who is eating fast food and processed foods and doesn’t live a healthy lifestyle

We also talk about unexplained fertility and possible connection to toxicity in the body – mentions research not directly related to this but related this but listen to the episode and you kk see what I mean! ALSO MARY THOMPSON (episode 4 about Ayurveda) mentioned toxicity in the body and women successfully conceiving after a cleanse
aaaannnnnnd PCOS! And mild versions of PCOS. Did you know PCOS is the #1 diagnosis in the US among women who are struggling with fertility

Visit Nicole at Dedham Acupuncture if you live in the area

Hilary’s Story

Hear about Hillary’s journey to becoming the mother of four and how baby #4 came by surprise after years of fertility treatment with her first three babies (they had less than 2% chance of conceiving naturally)

Hillary is so silly and she was a joy to talk to so I know that you will enjoy listening.

Some topics in this episode: clomid , IUI, IVF, frozen embryo transfers; the frustrating and embarrassing part of the fertility journey, getting pregnant via IVF but no one knows you got pregnant with IVF

my favorite thing she said in this episode was sometimes she feels judged because she has four kids and her hands are full. she says “you see my hands full and I see a blessing because of the work that it took to get them”

Happy Listening!

Hope: Fertility for Colored Girls

Last night I had a conversation with Rev. Dr. Stacey Edwards Dunn, founder of Fertility for Colored Girls (FFCG) an organization that provides financial, mental and community support for couples with fertility challenges.

With the wake of the George Floyd tragedy, I began to think about how I can do my part to help; at times feeling like my podcast about fertility is insignificant in comparison to other problems happening in the world.

What I realized is that I can make sure Pollinated acknowledges and integrates the fertility challenges felt by women of all different races and ethnicities because what I know for sure is fertility challenges share no preference of color.

But what may be different are factors like the availability of treatment and community.

In this episode Reverend Stacey and I talk about the African American culture around fertility conversations – she talks about a common myth among black women that makes struggling to conceive so hard to talk about- which is a large contributor to why she went through much of her IVF journey alone.

I also ask Reverend Stacey about her faith in God and whether that was questioned on her journey. And listen until the end to hear Rev. Stacey’s message to my mom

WARNING this episode contains amazingly hilarious interruptions from a toddler

Tamryn’s Story

This weeks story of timing is with Tamryn – heads up that it’s emotional and quite powerful. Tamryn’s voice is so soothing and she speaks so eloquently about her journey – with the coolest accent.

Tamryn admits that she decided a bit later in life that she wanted to have children. She never really had the urge, but suddenly around 33 years old, she suddenly, surprisingly, and desperately wanted it.

Tamryn got pregnant quickly, the second month of trying, but unfortunately suffered a  missed miscarriage and a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. This resulted in her losing a fallopian tube. That traumatic experience lead to a journey to acceptance and healing and time spent volunteering to help grieve.

“I had never felt the passing of time as intensely as i did during the waiting between cycles to find out if [I had] fallen pregnant. I remember how excruciating that is, where, having experienced a miscarriage, I would say its like a mini-miscarriage experience every time because you are hoping and hoping and hoping and then when you see that you’ve got you’re period, its just this devastation”

Tamryn goes on to tan about how she had to decide to just choose her life. She had been part of every FB group that exists for loss, infertility (#ICANRELATE). She admits that she was so obsessed with her reality and wasn’t engaging in the parts of her life that were working, such as her relationships and personal connections.

She talks about the moment where she decided she could no longer live every moment on the roller coaster that is infertility, and chose her life instead.

For months from that moment, Tamryn fell pregnant, by surprise.

How amazing is that! Before this, I didn’t know , well I KNEW how amazing the woman’s body was, but I didn’t know that the remaining fallopian tube migrates on every cycle between ovaries – THAT IS NATURE AT WORK!

Also, at the time of this release, Tamryn was pregnant with baby #2!

I know it can be so annoying to hear that you have to just “give up” and you’ll get pregnant. No one ever tells you the HOW. HOW do you expect me to give up??

I understand you.

I think it comes from within. IDK for sure though.
anyway, the lesson here is that its totes possible to have a baby (even two) with just one fallopian tube. Tamryn is proof!

Wonder

Mary Thompson is an ayurvedic practitioner and has been teaching ayurvedic principles for more than 20 years.

Think you are running out of time? Mary conceived at 42 years old! We also discuss: what ayurveda is, herb to support male fertility, 4 simple ways to support the liver which is important for the production of hormones, night sweats, calming PCOS, and towards the end like the episode I ask her a question in relation to marijuana

Mary brings a wealth of knowledge about Ayurveda and the human body mixed in with some really cool stories

I’m pumped to give you guys a taste of Ayurveda!

The name of this episode is wonder and that’s bc my favorite of her many famous lines (used in class and this episode) is – “ i wonder and would you consider” this is one of the ways she may approach a client  – by proceeding with curiously and without being Pushy -bc the power is always in the hands of the person you are just guiding them on their health journey

Rachel’s story

This is actually the very first call I ever recorded. I was in cape cod for my friend’s wedding, and right across the street from our airbnb there was a pathway that lead to a walkway/bike path surrounded by tees, and bunches, and sunlight. We didnt know it was there when we booked the airbnb, so you can imagine how excited I was when I accidentally found it looking for an escape so my husband wouldn’t hear me doing the interview (was super shy about it and still kind am).

This is Rachel’s story, and its quick but so special to me. She mentions trying an HSG and Clomid, both unsuccessful. There was some slight male factor but it didn’t seem to be a big issue and was fixed with a vitamin. Rachel also had a mild case of endometriosis, which resulted in one surgery in between TTC (trying to conceive).

Rachel spent about two years coming to terms with what experts told her of her inability to become pregnant. She spent this time practicing self-care both mentally and physically.

Due to complications relating to endometriosis, Rachel and her doctor together decided that her next move should be a hysterectomy aka removing the uterus. Can you guess what happened right before her surgery?

Episode 1 – Interview with Dr. Henry Klapholz, MD, MEE, OBGYN, Professor, Obstetrics & Gynecology Tufts University School of Medicine

I think it’s ironic that my first episode is from the west. once you listen to the episode, you’ll understand why it is that I don’t mind.

For me, the interview with Dr. Klapholz has an informative, sort of therapeutic feel. Some topics we touch on: OPK’s, PCOS, endometriosis, miscarriage and IVF, mixed in with a few cool stories and some uplifting messages from a wise teacher. Enjoy.
